Edward Esko is one of the world's leading teachers and counselors on the macrobiotic way of life. He studied with Michio Kushi for many years and has served as Executive Director of the East West Foundation in Boston and Director of Education and Dean of Faculty of the Kushi Institute of the Berkshires.
He has personally counseled and guided thousands of people toward improved health through the macrobiotic diet and way of life. He has lectured in over a dozen countries and authored or edited more than twenty books, including Holistic Health through Macrobiotics, Natural Healing through Macrobiotics, and The Macrobiotic Approach to Cancer.
Edward co-founded the International Macrobiotic Institute in 2016 to further the dream and vision of his mentor, Michio Kushi, and to make quality macrobiotic education and guidance available to people around the world. Together with his wife, Naomi Ichikawa Esko, Edward offers a variety of personal and group services, including personal dietary and way of life counseling, lectures, and online courses. In 2019 he founded the Kushi School of New York and Berkshire Holistic Associates.

Naomi Ichikawa Esko is a 2010 graduate of the Kushi Institute (K.I.) in Massachusetts. Prior to her study at the K.I. she worked in the restaurant industry in her native Tokyo. In 2011 she established an educational center known as Macrobiotics Japan. Naomi also managed a consulting business advising restaurants in the preparation of healthly menus. She lives in Western Mass. with her husband, Edward Esko.

Sheri Demaris, M.Ed. is a macrobiotic cooking teacher and cookbook author who has taught at restaurants and cooking schools throughout the United States and Europe. Sheri has consulted with chefs at top rated restaurants such as the Ritz Carlton and has taught doctors and nurses at the University of California San Diego School of Integrative Medicine. Sheri is a Level 4 graduate of the Kushi Institute. She is the author of the book Macro Magic for Kids and Parents and host, director, and producer of an alternative health TV show, "Tea with Sheri."
June Ka Lim
Founder Woods Macrobiotic School and
June Ka Lim is the founder of Woods Macrobiotics. A nature lover and permaculturist, June is also a trained Macrobiotic chef and counselor, holistic nutritionist and an author. Her extensive exposure and training in New York, Boston, Seattle, Japan, Germany, Holland, Japan and Italy gave great inspiration to her menu designing. Her thoughts about Woods: “Nothing comes easy. When you sow a melon seed, it does not guarantee you a melon fruit. The important thing is to always live for now.” June is partnering with the IMI to begin the Macrobiotic Online Course at her school featuring online studies and live cooking classes.

Bashar is a senior faculty member at the IMI in Dubai and co-creator and manager of the Macrobiotic Online Course. Bashar has been actively involved in spreading awareness about healthy diet and lifestyle in the Arab world for many years, with a focus on the effect of food on body, mind and emotions. Bashar studied with many macrobiotic teachers and leaders, including: Mariam Nour, Edward Esko, David Briscoe and more. He has given lectures in local communities and on public TV. Together with friends, he launched a local farmers market, focusing on empowering local organic agriculture and green lifestyle. Recently he started teaching the IMI Macrobiotic Online Course in Arabic.

Flor Marques is a Holistic Dentist and Reiki Master who specializes in dentistry and health and wellness coaching. Since the age of twenties her burning desire to help and heal others has driven Flor to become the top in her field. After being diagnosed bipolar and with severe depression, Flor dove deep in her self healing journey. Flor has traveled the world to study with the best spiritual masters and teachers. Flor has expertise in Yoga, Macrobiotic Counseling, Meditation, Breathing Techniques, Qigong, Pranic Crystal and Psychotherapy Healing.Dr Marques is 4th generation of dentist in her family, and also served in the Brazilian navy as lieutenant dentist . She grew up in a strictly macrobiotic household, where the foundation of her family was based on the Traditional Oriental medicine, Philosophy of natural healing through food and lifestyle habits. Today, Dr. Marques, the founder of Holistic Dentistry Group, combines her expertise in dentistry and expansive knowledge in holistic healing. She sees patients privately who are seeking healing from pain, stress and psychological issues. Dr. Marques currently practices worldwide and resides in New York City, and is the author of the upcoming book, “Unlock the Secrets: Overcome & Rise above Anxiety and Depression.” Flor is on the faculty of the Kushi School of New York (KSNY), a division of the IMI.

Alice Fava lives in Toronto but spends a lot of her spare time in Brooklyn, New York. She has six beautiful grandchildren who are the loves of her life. As well as practicing law, Alice has been practicing macrobiotics for almost 40 years and is a certified macrobiotic cooking instructor and counselor. She holds a Plant Based Nutrition Certificate from T. Colin Campbell's Program at Cornell University. Alice runs The Macrobiotic Centre of Toronto which for many years was located in midtown Toronto. Currently her 30 Day Start Up Program is running online while her Culinary Medicine Program Levels 1 to 4 is being offered live.
